Diaz Musical Products is co-owned by two life long friends, Peter McMahon and Maggie Clare-Diaz. Maggie is the widow of the late guitar amp guru, Cesar Diaz. Peter’s involvement started from the very beginning, when Cesar began the company in Washington D.C. in the late 1970’s. Cesar was without transportation, new to the D.C. area, and Peter would drive him around to the music stores begging for amplifiers to repair. The very early days were the two of them sitting at Maggie’s dining room table dismantling musical equipment, essentially performing reverse engineering to figure out the intricacies of guitars and amps while watching reruns of Lancelot Link Secret Chimp and Fred Sanford (Cesar did an impeccable impersonation of Fred Sanford). Around this time Cesar met Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bob Dylan, opening the doors for his fledgling business.
This amp combines some of the very best craftsmanship, soul and some amazing features to yield an amp that is not only extremely usable for any occasion, but hands down in a tonal category of its own. Tonehounds, if you are looking for an amp that can play any stage in the world and responds like a living breathing animal, then this CD 100 cannot be overlooked.
The clean tones this amp propels can do more than hold its own with the very best Twins on the market. Crunch is easily dialed in and has a tremendous raw grit to it that is presented elegantly with rich overtones. Cranked up, this beast opens wide and shows itself to be from another planet indeed. It has its own distinct voice that is not unlike the best Twin, Bassman and Marshall all combined with luscious spring reverb and real vibrato. This amp can take you to Mars and back with a few easy tweaks. Listen for yourself.

I’ve been writing songs all my life from a more folky, singer-songwriter, even Celtic direction.
